Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. II Timothy 3:16-17; KJV
Christian education is a focal point at Green Street.
Bible-based education nourishes and nurtures us in our spiritual development and walks in Christ - and along with worship, prayer, and fellowship - is a primary predictor of the spiritual health of the congregation.
Green Street offers a myriad of educational opportunities for youth and adults.
Jesus said “Let the children come to me, do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God.” (Mark 10:14)
Green Street United Methodist Church welcomes all children to its Sunday School classes. They need not be church members. Over the years, many non-member children have shared their experiences with siblings, friends and parents, blessing them with the shared knowledge of God's love for all. Classes are open-ended, children may start at any time. Children may register for classes by calling the office at 622-0843.
Green Street United Methodist Church follows Safe Sanctuary Policy and Procedure. By doing so, we create an environment that is safe for youth, children, and the adults who work with them. Staff and volunteers are screened before working with our children. Training is provided for Sunday School staff on child abuse and prevention. Two adults are present at events involving children up to the fifth grade. Classrooms and child care rooms can be visited anytime by parents, church staff, or volunteers. Children grade 3 or below are kept in the classroom until a parent or other authorized adult/sibling pick them up. Green Street wants everyone to feel safe and have fun as we learn more about God’s love.
