Church Dinners

Green Street's congregation sponsors several types of feasts throughout the year.
 
The Angel Food Network
is a non denominational, faith-based group of churches in Augusta that serves free public suppers each Saturday from September through June.
 
Everyone and anyone are welcome. Churches serve each others' congregants and supporters, in addition to those wishing to stretch their food budgets.
 
The network welcomes all inquiries from other groups.  Any organization wishing join the network and sponsor a public supper is encouraged to contact one of the members listed below.
 
All times are between 5 and 6 p.m. except where noted.

Thanksgiving Day Dinner is one of Green Street's largest missions. 
 
Each year over 350 meals are served, including Meals on Wheels and dining room guests.
 
Meals are served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 
 
 
Many volunteers contribute time, money and food to the dinner, everything from set up to delivering Meals on Wheels. Business contributors include Kennebec Chocolates, Hannaford Food Stores and the Bethlehem Lodge 35 Charity Fund.

  • Turkey - 249 lbs.
  • Squash - 96 lbs.
  • Peas - 60 lbs.
  • Potatoes - 100 lbs.
  • Stuffing
  • Breads
  • Appetizers
  • Several types of pies
You can volunteer by cooking a turkey, baking pies, delivering Meals on Wheels, serving dinners and busing tables, and by joining the clean up crew. Everything is complete by 2:00 p.m.
